The principal new features introduced with WildTools 9 are:
• Added Stretch tool.
• The Point tool now has style and size choices.
• The Join tool now has the ability to join multiple objects in a single operation and a trim-
extend join of two lines.
• The Blend and Join tools now handle the Z heights of TopoTools.
• The Measure tool now has a high-precision measurement capability.
• Added Surface Texture tool to Dimension Tools palette.
• The Baseline Tools palette now has a Square Polygon tool.
• Added ‘Smart Lines’ to Nuts & Bolts palette.
• Added Setups for many tools.
• Added dramatic improvements for live drawing, live highlighting and live display to preview
a tool’s action. This is for many tools, perhaps half of the tools in WildTools.
• Added information balloons for many tools, to show the current settings for the tool or
relevant information in the process of drawing.
• Added rulers, protractors, tangent and perpendicular snap indicators, cut marks, etc. as part
of the display in the process of drawing.
• Changed name of the Z Move tool of TopoTools to the Z Nibble tool.
• Added a new Z Move tool to TopoTools.
• Added a Topo Breakline tool to TopoTools.
• Added a Z Delete tool to TopoTools.
• Added an Analyze Topo menu command of Find Contours and Analyze Slope to
TopoTools.
• Added North Arrow and Sun Shadow tools to ShadowTools palette.
• You can now use the PowerCADD shortcut of “..” for the feet mark in all WildTools
dialogs.
• Added an ‘actual dimension as typed’ display of fixed dimensions to tool dialog display and
information balloons. That is, if you type a dimension of 1.23456” for the setting, you will
see 1.23456” and not rounded off to, say 1.23” if you have the display accuracy set lower.
• In WildTools preferences pane, eliminated Zoomer Autoscroll and Zoomer Double-click
options (they are now always on), added Smart Lines (Nuts & Bolts) choice and Analyze
Topo as an optional menu command.
• Added 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 slope buttons for the Slope Offset and Grading Tools in
TopoTools.
• Added ability to ask for tangent snaps with the Extension Arc and Joggle tools.
