Walls

Wall settings are controlled by a Floating Inspector. All aspects of Walls are generated here.
Walls are parametric and can be changed on the fly! Changing for example a height will be reflected throughout the model file and will affect all walls sharing the same name.
Steps for making a wall.
- Double click or Option Click the Wall Tool.
- Select the Add Wall button.
- Give the wall a name.
- Give the wall a height, thickness and material.
- Apply. This confirms your settings. When used with an existing model this will apply those settings to that type of wall throughout the model.
All these settings work on the fly so changes made will ripple through a model. For example, change the thickness of a wall and the change is applied to every wall with that setting across the entire model.
Placing a Wall
This is done in plan view.
Remember we have a clockwise convention for all placed objects. In this example we are drawing left to right and then down.
- Select the wall tool having first set the tool parameters.
- Place the 1st point.
- In a clockwise direction snap click the remaining points to insert the wall.
- Finish with a click at the start point and the wall is made.
If you want to place a single wall, or wall without returning back to the start double click to finish the wall.
