Window Insert

Window setting are controlled by a Floating Inspector. All aspects of a Window are generated here.
Windows are parametric and can be changed on the fly! Changing for example a height will be reflected throughout the model file and will affect all windows sharing the same name.
Roof windows also known as Velux Windows are a special case click here for more info.
If you need a Symbol/Door/Window item let us know and we will build one for you. If you have a 3D model you want to use and its royalty free email it to us and we will make it into an in2space library for you. Or go to how to make symbols in Mis/Library Items to see how it is done.
Steps for creating a Window.
- Double click or Option Click the Window Tool.
- Select the Add Window button (Plus icon).
- Select the desired Family of Windows from the Drop Down Group Button.
- Select your required Window from the Draw. Double click a new window to use default size and materials settings. A single click keeps selected window settings.
- Give the Window a name.
- Give the Window a height, width, thickness and material etc.
- Apply. This confirms your settings. When used with an existing model this will globally apply the settings for that Window throughout the model.
- Windows, as with doors and symbols ,can be changed by selecting a new type from the Draw and APPLYING. This then reflects throughout the model and all symbols with of this name will be changed.
Placing a Window
This is done in plan view.
Remember we have a clockwise convention for drawing all placed objects.
- In PLAN on the wall layer (the Layer having the Wall in which the Window is to be inserted MUST be the active layer) click on a point to select the Window position. The operation cuts a hole and inserts the Window.

This window is a work around in this version. We have not automated the process of placing windows into roof elements yet. This will come in V2. Currently we use a symbol and adjust the angle and tilt and height to match that of the roof.
