Door Insert
Door settings are controlled by a Floating Inspector. All aspects of a door are generated here.
If you need a Symbol/Door/Window item let us know and we will build one for you. If you have a 3D model you want to use and its royalty free email it to us and we will make it into an in2space library for you. Or go to how to make symbols in Mis/Library Items to see how it is done.
Doors are parametric and can be changed on the fly! Changing for example a height will be reflected throughout out the whole model file and will affect all doors with the same name.

Steps for creating a Door.
- Double click or Option Click the Door Tool.
- Select the Add Door button (Plus icon) This will clone the settings of a selected door. Double click the new door to access default size and materials settings. A single click retains the selected door settings.
- Select a Family of doors from the Drop Down Group Button
- Choose the door you want to use from Draw.
- Give the Door a name.
- Give the Door a height, width thickness and material if different from default.
- Apply. This confirms your settings. When used with an existing model these settings will be applied globally to all doors of the same name throughout the model.
- Doors with Symbols and windows can be changed by selecting a new type from the Pull Down Groupings and or Draw and APPLYING. This then reflects thoughout the model so all symbols with this name will be changed.
Special Types Cutting Profiles have no library item and will cut through walls but place no object.
Deleting
Use Delete key or cut on selectig the door. The wall is automatically healed.
Placing a Door
This is done in plan view.
Remember to observe the clockwise convention for drawing all placed objects.
- In PLAN on the wall layer (the layer having the wall where the door will be inserted MUST be the active layer) click on a point to select the door position. The operation cuts a hole and inserts the door.

The Preview window is a 3D projection and you can rotate the model around.
The point at which the door is placed can be inside a wall to further inset the door.
