3DNavigation
Navigating around in 3D View has of course no equivalent in PowerCADD. So you need to learn some new tools. Some will be familiar (Zoom for example is the same as in 2D) but others are unique. You'll need to be sure that you are familiar with the basic methods.
3D navigation uses the analogy of a Camera and Target:
The Camera, as the name implies, is the viewpoint from which you see a 3D model.
The Target is the area of focus towards which the Camera is pointed. This is visible by a cross hair (which can be toggled on and off in the VIEW Menu item).
1. Camera (No visible icon)
- Press the space bar to orbit the camera around the Target using the mouse.
- Select the HAND to orbit camera.
- Use the Mouse wheel to zoom the camera towards or away from the Target ( zoom ).
- Or use the Plus and Minus keys ( +/- ) to zoom the camera towards or away from the Target ( zoom ).
- Arrow keys also orbit the camera.
2. Target

- Shift and Arrow Keys move the Target.
- Press the space bar with the shift key to move the Target with the mouse.
- Selecting
an object (e.g. a window or figure) and pressing Command F makes the
object the Target and zooms in on it. The new target that you have
selected now becomes the point of rotation of the camera orbit, thus enabling a very fast and fluid way of working.

- View Target in the Toolbar will move the Target until the mouse is released.
Tips
To achieve an eye-height view very easily set the target to a full-size figure and move the target to the eye-level of the figure.
FitToView command in the 3D window has 2 functions:
• If nothing
is selected Command F fits the whole view and centres the view point of
the scene.
• If an object is selected it will become the target and fit to the screen.
