Storeys

In2Space uses the same familiar design for Layers, but we have made them into a nested system. STOREYS and LAYERS are combined. Storeys set the working heights for your building. Layers, as in PCadd, are used tomake active, display or hide objects.

So.... in 3D we have to establish initial working levels. When you first paste into 3D both a Storey and a Layer are created, both untitled.

Storey displays the height chosen. Click on Storey and you will see that height is now accessible. 0 is default and will do to make the first objects.

This pre-sets the z value so that when you are working in 3D you need worry only about the x/y position of objects. Working levels are key to in2Space. They allow you to concentrate on placement in x and y and forget what is happening in the 3D ie the Z space.

The dialogue has the same familiar layout. Tick to make the level active, Dot to make it visible. Same for Storey. Call this layer Plan (which is where the plan was pasted). The storey is named by the height set. You can add to this name by double clicking in the storey name box, but if at some point you replace the height it will remove the label.

TIP

Clicking on an object in the 3D window automatically selects the storey and layer. Tghis makes for fast layer selection.

When you paste into In2Space the 1st pasted drawing is in the 2D plan view. If the plan is off screen you can fit to window with the Command F menu item.
