South/East View

Again needs little explanation. Opens a View displaying East and West elevations.
In these views 2D objects are selectable, ie Plan, East and West. With one exception polygons are selectable in 3D view as well as in EAST and WEST elevations once pasted into E&W views. Polygons are seen as 3D objects.
Filled Polygons can be used for Text with great effect. But more importantly they are used in extrusions.
An elevation is pasted into a view (E & S) relative to the plan. So its stands to reason that to be useful in a 3D environment we need to move this pasted elevation into the correct position. This we call a datum shift. Once you have moved the elevation in E or S views the shift is remembered so that the next time you paste it will be at the correct position with the datum shift applied.
Follow the example below to see a simple example of this feature in action. Text is converted to Polygons before being used in the 3D model.

The diagrams shown here show a PCadd image pasted from the 0,0 origin in PCadd. You can see the 0,0,0 origin in in2space is the same as 0,0 in Pcadd. This example is in inches. |

| Datum Shift in East and South View | |
![]() |
In the South view the black rectangle has been selected and then a 1'3 3/4" inch z shift is applied. This is the exact same distance offset from the blue square. Pressing ALT with a selected object will also move the selected object in any direction using the arrow keys. ALT and SHIFT gives a coarse move |
Follow the example below to see a simple example of this feature in action. Using Text converted to Polygons then used in the 3D model.
Steps for pasting into Elevation and Datum Shift
In PCadd select the object (or multiples) to be used. If PCadd 7 or below convert to a Polygon, from PCadd 8 this is automatic. In this example text in Red oval.

Select the View to paste into (South or East)
Paste the PCadd object "La Bouguetterie" in this case South. In this example you can see the text bellow the main model. No datum applied.

Select the text in any elevation. Then apply Shift in Z 13484.00 The text is moved into the correct Z height. |

if not selected select the text in any elevation once again. Then apply Shift in Shift Applied in Y 20600.00 The text is moved into the correct Y position. |
